Celebrate Independence Day in Ellijay – July 4th Events Schedule

Get ready for a fun-filled day of community spirit, celebration, and patriotic pride as Ellijay gears up to celebrate Independence Day on July 4th! With festivities for all ages, from a lively parade to spectacular fireworks, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this cherished annual tradition.

Vendor Tents – Opening at 2:00 PM

Kick off your afternoon by browsing local vendors set up in the parking lot of First Baptist Church. Whether you’re in the mood for snacks, handmade crafts, or family-friendly activities, this is a great way to support local businesses and get into the festive spirit early.

Parade Details

• Line-Up Time & Location:
  Parade participants will begin lining up at Sailors Drive at 5:30 PM. Please note: only pre-registered vehicles and floats are allowed in the parade.
• Parade Start Time:
  The parade begins at 7:30 PM, traveling along River Street from Sailors Drive, looping around the roundabout, and continuing up North Main Street to the Elementary School. Bring your lawn chairs and find a great spot along the route to enjoy the colorful floats, music, and community energy!

Fireworks at Dark

The celebration concludes with a bang—literally! Once night falls, head toward McCutchen Street, where fireworks will be launched behind the former Ellijay Primary School building. This dazzling display is always a crowd favorite, so get there early for the best views!
